I had been drawing assets and designing characters purely for game projects that I really got sick and wanted to do something for myself and my friend!
I was working on another artwork that included this character but couldn't figure out the propotions in that pose, so I just drew her out completely :]

I have yet to know the difference between a mermaid and a siren (design-wise, at least), but I looked up many sea creatures and was inspired by ocean life in general :3
I'm trying to be more diverse with my poses and type of bodies that I draw!
